Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native born in Houston on the 17th of April, 1972. William John Garner was her father. He was also a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in the same college as her. To follow in the tradition of her father, she graduated as a chemical engineer. She moved to New York in order to fulfill her ambitions as an actor. As she appeared in Broadway productions, she served as a server in a nearby restaurant. She played a minor role in the film "Felicity" (where it was that she also encountered Scott Foley). Garner was given her first major role in "13 Going on 30" the romantic comedy that was well-received. She played a teenage girl who was trapped within the body of an adult. Garner chose Gary Winick (director) to create the film. They looked for new projects to do until Winick passed away in the year 2011. Garner received the title of the artist ambassador in 2009 by Save the Children U.S.A. This role involves encouraging nutrition and literacy across the United States in addition to early childhood education. Garner is a board member as the group's president since 2014, is an advocate for early education.
